Advanced: This class is for those students who are generally pleased with their work but need critiques and an occasional direction along the way. Individual attention will be given to each student to help them with their specific needs. Instruction is tailored to fit each student’s needs and to convey direction in a meaningful way to each individual. The class will experience individual and group critiques as well as individual and group demos.

Watercolor, Ink & Colored PencilInstructor: Ron Sanders
Here is the opportunity to mix the power of black line with the energy of watercolors and the richness and texture of colored pencils. From technical linework to expressive forms, we will explore the emotional nuances of ink work, then lay on the color to bring life to our drawings.
The Graphic LandscapeInstructor: Ron Sanders
Learn to see and simplify the landscape into bright, bold, graphic shapes of color to create modern translations of our world. By learning how to simplify what we see, we will not only create lean and contemporary works of art, but we will also learn how to better understand shape, form and spacial relationships that will improve our more traditional work. This class is open to all colored media: oil, acrylic, landscape, pastel, marker, etc..
Watercolor: Beginner & IntermediateInstructor: Patt Bacon
Learn about watercolor papers (types and weights), color (wheel and mixing), and brush techniques. Demonstrations are given on each phase of learning. You will also learn how background washes are done and how watercolor paints can be layered and still be translucent. Above all, you can have FUN doing it all!

Learn the 3 Cs ... Composition, Color and Contrast! Each session begins with a mini-lesson on one of these topics. There is a critique on works in progress or how to improve a completed work. Each person works at his or her own speed. The objective is that all learn and improve while enjoying themselves. Advanced students.
Watercolor Basics: All LevelsInstructor: Jim Beech
Classes will begin with basic art concepts and a review of drawing, color, design and techniques. There will be weekly demonstrations and practice of fundamentals. The final weeks will be a student project of their choice including shortcuts, the use of photos and watercolor techniques revisited.
Abstract Painting for BeginnersInstructor: Beverly Yankwitt
In the beginners abstract class students will start with a discussion of the principles of design and composition. They will learn about the different types of media used in abstract art, the techniques that can be used and how to apply paint to paper or canvas to obtain a finished peice of art. Artwork will be critiqued as a learning tool for all students.
Advanced Abstract PaintingInstructor: Beverly Yankwitt
In this class, students will work on thier own designs using techniques previously taught. Emphasis in the class will be on composition and design principles. Contemporary and more difficult approaches to abstract art will be discussed. Critique of artwork will be done with class participation welcome. Students will be encouraged to develop thier own style of painting.
How to Paint Like the Old MastersInstructor: Catherine Lucas
This class is designed to guide students through the process of developing a painting using the process of developing a painting using the traditional techniques of indirect painting. This painting approach will begin with a drawing that is transferrred to the canvas and developed into a fully realized monochromatic under painting. Next, thin layers of paint and glazes are applied to the under painting to achieve the effects of luminosity and depth of the old masters. Students will work from their own still life setup with objects of their choosing.
Open StudioInstructor: Ron Sanders
An open studio setting for the exploration of any subjects, style or medium. Bring existing work to complete in class or begin new work or explore new directions. Students are welcome to paint landscape, still life, or portraits. The instructor will be available for critique and guidance as needed.
AcrylicsInstructor: Ron Sanders
Learn the basic principles of working with acrylics. A fast drying water-soluble paint that becomes waterresistant when dry and combines some of the properties of oil and watercolor. Learn tips, techniques, with demonstrations and critiques.

Working in pastels, oils or acrylics, (no watercolors please), create human portraits, pet portraits or animal paintings. Beginning with the breakdown of the human facial features, basic portraiture will be taught in charcoal and progression to the medium of your choice. Demos, along with personalized instruction by instructor well versed in animal portraiture and human portraits.

The goals of this class vary with each student's individual objectives, while helping to eliminate the fear factor. Whether you seek to improve basic skills or are a beginner, this class will focus on the independent study and refinement of your painting in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. Instructor demostrations, combined with individual instruction and critique, are directed at improving the way each student "sees" subject, composition, and use of color. Although some students may complete a painting, the focus is on learning and improving. Students may bring unfinished pieces to complete or begin a new piece using a subject of their choosing.

Watercolor Basic Concepts & TechniquesInstructor: Don Melander
Landscape class using watercolor in a simplified manner. Scenes are depicted through identifiable shapes, a strong value system, composition and color. Don paints watercolors in a realistic style. His paintings often contain a building, barn, lighthouse, boat or other common man-made objects with the goal of preserving their individuality. Each session will begin with a demo and discussion on theory. Most of the session will then be devoted to the participants painting with individual help and instruction. Beginners are always welcome; separate classes for beginners and non-beginners.

If you are new to art or ever wanted to learn how to get started then this is the class for you. Charcoal drawing was the first art form as early man would use it to depict the world around them on cave walls. This class will help the absolute beginner and even those with some experience. It is also the fundamental first step in a painting, or taken to finished stage can be a beautiful work by itself. You will learn in a small class with individual attention with focus on drawing the portrait using varying techniques.
Figure DrawingInstructor: Robert Pavon
If you have an interest in learning how to draw the figure, then this is the class for you. The human body is likely the most beautiful and most difficult subject to understand. In this class you will learn the proper proportions and how to depict them. We will start with gesture drawings as a warm up and move into longer poses as the class progresses. This class will use pictures instead of live models. Please note: this class will show nudity for the work we are doing in class. Students must be 18 years of age or older.
Right Brain Drawing Instructor: Kathleen Kelly
Applying discoveries in brain research to the teaching of drawing skills, the student is presented a set of basic exercises to release creative potential and tap into the special abilities of the visual, perceptual right hemisphere of the brain.
